On June 25, 2024, Cedar LNG made history when a positive final investment decision (FID) was declared for the world’s first Indigenous majority-owned LNG facility.

Immediately following FID, construction commenced with a focus on site preparation and clearing work. The innovative floating LNG unit is also under development overseas for delivery to Kitimat in 2028.

With peak construction anticipated in 2026, we are committed to keeping the community informed about construction activities and timing.
